Personal Information Collection Statement
Aeonea Limited (the “Company”) confirms that it recognises all your rights arising under the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486 of the Laws of Hong Kong) (the “PDPO”) in relation to all personal data which we obtain from you or receive or collate in relation to you, from time to time.
We may collect, hold, use, and disclose certain types of personal data about you, including but not limited to the following:
personal identification and contact information such as your name, date of birth, gender, residential address, email address, telephone number, nationality, visa status;
details of education and employment history such as your qualifications, skills, experience, and contact information of your professional references;
details about your current or expected future compensation;
information obtained from background checks and screening such as education and employment verification, credit and driver’s license checks, and criminal convictions and/or offences; and
any other information that you may choose to share with the Company or any other Group Company or that may be necessary for the satisfaction of the purposes listed below.
Sometimes we will collect personal data about you from third parties. For example, we might:
receive certain information identified above from a recruiter;
obtain professional references from a former employer or other relevant referee; and
engage a background check provider to undertake an employment, education, credit, and/or criminal background check, or a public source review.
We may collect, hold and use your personal data for purposes directly or indirectly relevant to your application for a role with the Company or any other Group Company, including but not limited to the following:
assess your suitability, fitness and propriety for a vacancy within the Company or any other Group Company;
determine a preliminary remuneration and benefits package to be discussed with you subject to selection for the position, and negotiating with and making an offer of employment to you;
communicate with you regarding your application and our recruitment process;
administer, manage, and improve our recruitment operations, including monitoring our compliance with the internal rules and policies of the Company or any other Group Company;
conduct reference and background checks about you, including but not limited to criminal history check, credit history check, education, qualification and employment history verification, and professional license verification;
meet our obligations with respect to recruiting agencies acting on your behalf;
verification of your eligibility to work;
apply for licences, registrations, or memberships with regulators or self-regulatory organisations;
handle any actual or prospective legal, arbitration, administrative or regulatory proceedings, action, investigation or inquiry before any court, tribunal or competent authority, whether in or outside Hong Kong, and obtaining legal advice;
diversity and inclusion and equal opportunities monitoring;
comply with any applicable legal or regulatory obligations;
facilitate any merger, acquisition, reorganisation, spin-out, outsourcing, or sale of all or part of the business of the Company or any other Group Company;
inform you about prospective employment opportunities with us; and
any other purposes directly or indirectly related to the above.
The provision of your personal data is mandatory unless otherwise specified. Failure to provide any personal data required may influence the processing and outcome of your application for a role with the Company or any other Group Company.
The Company may transfer your personal data to any of the following parties, whether within or outside of Hong Kong, for the above mentioned purposes for which your personal data is to be used:
another Group Company;
any third party in connection with any merger, acquisition, reorganisation, spin-out, outsourcing, or sale of all or part of the Company’s or any other Group Company’s business;
any third party in connection with a dispute, litigation, investigation, proceedings or enquiry involving the Company or any other Group Company;
any applicable regulators, governmental bodies, tax authorities or other industry recognised bodies located inside or outside Hong Kong;
any third party as required by any applicable law, rules and regulations, codes of practice or guidelines of any applicable jurisdiction, or as required by an order by a court of competent jurisdiction;
any agent, contractor or third party service provider engaged by the Company or any other Group Company, including without limitation any background check provider, legal advisor, auditor or other professional advisor, any cloud services provider, payroll provider, any provider of administrative, support, telecommunications, computer or other services; and
anyone you authorise.
We will retain your personal data for only as long as it is considered necessary for the fulfilment of the purposes described above, unless otherwise required or permitted by law, and in accordance with our internal retention policies.
If your application for employment is successful, your personal data gathered during the recruitment process will be transferred to your personnel file and retained during your employment.
If your application for employment is unsuccessful, we will retain your personal data for a period of up to two years from the date of rejection to inform you about any future employment opportunities with us, unless there is a subsisting reason that obliges us to retain the data for a longer period.
In general, and subject to certain exemptions, you may:
request access to your personal data;
request the correction of your personal data; and
be given reasons if a request for access or correction is refused.

For the purpose of this statement:
“Affiliate” means, in respect of any undertaking, an undertaking which directly or indirectly, through one or more intermediaries, controls such undertaking, is controlled by such undertaking or is under common control with such undertaking; “control” (including, with correlative meanings, the terms “controlled by” and “under common control with”), as used with respect to any undertaking, means the possession, directly or indirectly, of the power to direct or cause the direction of the management and policies of such undertaking, whether through the ownership of voting securities or by contract or otherwise; “undertaking” has the meaning ascribed to it in Schedule 1 of the Companies Ordinance (Cap. 622 of the Laws of Hong Kong).
“Group Company” means the Company, any Affiliate of the Company, any fund or entity which has been advised by any of them and any Affiliate of such fund or entity.
